Picking figs fresh off the tree, feel the sap make your fingers sticky, and eat the entire thing whole is a quintessential experience in our home. Bahraini figs are small, so can be eaten like a strawberry, without ever seeing their colourful centres. However, we wanted to emulate that experience of sap dripping from the fruit, so we set a diamond in the bottom, inverted, like a drop about to fall.
