Custom Pieces & Projects

We welcome Commissions and Custom pieces at Ghurrah, and will work with you one on one to create your own one-of-a-kind piece.

We have created numerous custom pieces, from custom calligraphy charms to custom pendants including sun motifs, and miniature fruit.

Custom pieces can be modifications to existing Ghurrah pieces, in different carats  or in design, or can be completely one-of-a-kind.

Timeline:

Custom orders will take from 5-8 weeks to complete, but each project will be given a timeline at the beginning. However, we reserve the right to take up to eight weeks to complete all projects.

In case of major public holidays in Bahrain, please be advised that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is not open for hallmarking, so pieces might be delayed.

Minimum budget and payment plans for Customs:

This is flexible depending on the project, but usually it will not be under BD300 for 18k gold, unless it is a simple modification to an existing Ghurrah piece.

A non-refundable 50% deposit will be made in the case of CAD-designed options. Once design is approved, the remaining 50% needs to be made. For fully handmade pieces, payment is in full upfront.

Gold Weight estimates:

Please note all gold weight given before a project starts is an estimate only. Since custom pieces are by nature one-offs, it is rare that accurate weight can be given.

What does a Custom project include:

As mentioned, these can be changes or modifications to Ghurrah pieces or completely new pieces. Please note that for OOAK pieces, you agree that similar pieces can be reproduced if the concept was a Ghurrah concept.

Can you repurpose or reuse existing jewellery?

Unless a customer is based in Bahrain, the answer is no. Shipping would be too complicated to organise.

For Bahrain-based customers, we can repurpose some stones, and we can use the gold at melt price to balance some of the gold costs. However, the gold itself will not be reused.

Process:

Email ghurrah.jewellery@gmail.com with an idea of what you’d like. Please note that all custom projects will have to be communicated via email so that it is easy to reference. Email can include inspiration images, styles, budget, stones, or gold karat.

Photos of previous custom pieces can also be shared.

Sizing

My ring/wrist size isn't listed on the website?

Ghurrah Fine Jewellery is an inclusive brand, and almost all ring sizes can be accommodated. However, the website limits SKUs, so there is a limit that appears on each page.

For rings smaller than a US size 4 or bigger than a US size 9, please reach out or make a note in the checkout.

Shipping & Tariffs

What countries do you ship to?

We ship to almost all countries. If for some reason your country is not listed, please email info@ghurrah.com.

What countries have duties and tariffs included?

Due to restrictions from Shopify, the countries we are able to cover duties for are: the European Union, UK, USA, Canada, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

All other countries are not duty-inclusive. You will have to pay duties and tariffs upon arrival.

How long does shipping take?

Ghurrah uses FedEx for shipping and orders are usually delivered 3-6 working days from dispatch.

Gold Karat

Are items available in alternative gold karats?

Almost all products that don't have prong-set gems can be made in 21k or 22k. Please reach out for a quote.

Ghurrah does not currently work in 14k or 10k gold.

Care

How do I take care of my pieces?

Our pieces are made to last a lifetime with proper care.

It is not recommended to sleep, or shower in your pieces. Over time, shampoo, lotions, and gels can build up and make gold and gemstones appear dull.

It is also recommended that rings are removed during activities that include: washing pots and pans, cleaning with harsh chemicals, exercising with weights, and gardening. These can damage settings and gems, predominately through the metal-on-metal contact.

Will my pieces tarnish or cause irritation?

All Ghurrah pieces are solid gold, and should not cause skin irritation.

However, some hand sanitizers, lotions or soaps can cause chemical reactions with gold. This may cause the gold to discolour, or your finger to turn black.

Using a soft toothbrush and gentle soap solution (liquid soap with plenty of water) or with toothpaste, scrub the piece until it shines.

If you are Bahrain-based, Ghurrah will do this for free.
